February. Did you ever consider how mistreated this month is? February is bound to have a complex, because after all, it is the shortest month of the year. Yeah, I know, every four years we allow it to come a little closer to the other months by giving it an extra day. But, then just as it’s feeling a little better about itself, we take that extra day away.

We also stick it in the middle of the winter…when nothing of any significance is happening. Oh, sure, we put February 14th in there…a little one-day observance in the middle of the month that many men forget, then have to spend the rest of the year making up for.

February is cold, too. There’s no feeling of renewal as there is with January, another notoriously cold month. In March we begin to see signs of life once again….the weather becomes a little warmer, the sun a little brighter. Poor little February is just stuck in there to keep January and March from bumping into one another.

But, examining the birth records from 1995 to 2002, we see that November births number an average of 2,532,156 or 10,550.65 per day.  So, I suppose in one respect, we shouldn’t feel too sorry for February.

Every October we celebrate Country Music Mouth by playing Classic Country all day long every Thursday. Our listeners have been begging for us to do this more often so we have listened. Beginning Wednesday, January 27, 2010, and every Wednesday there after we will play two solid hours of Country Classic Music during the Eagle Country Classic Cafe. Listeners are encouraged to make request by email or phone and join me for two increasable hours of Classic Country every Wednesday at 10:00 central / 11:00 eastern.

Severe Weather Season is just around the corner. As a matter of a fact we have already had a few close calls. I will spend more time next month talking about our severe weather coverage. Meanwhile, if the sky's turn dark tune to Eagle 1023, ESPN 1240/1360 and 96.9 FM

Well we’re already one month into the new year.  Hopefully January was a good one for everyone.  If not maybe February will be better one for you.  I don’t know about everyone else but I’m ready for some warmer weather, but I guess I still have a little bit of a wait before that happens.  So far so good with work this year and I’m hoping it’ll stay that way as the year carries on.  I also want to encourage every one to listen to the Country Classic Café on Eagle 102.3 every Wednesday from 11 A.M. – 1 P.M. Eastern Time because I know I sure enjoy it.  The Country Classic Café features 2 hours of classic country music and is also a request show so you can send in your request and hear exactly what you want to hear.

Basketball is well under way and how bout them Tigers.  Auburn almost upset Kentucky and also since they couldn’t manage to beat Alabama in football at least they were able to in basketball.  The team I play with is off to a great start and the chance at another championship for us is still possible.  We haven’t lost a game yet but we have some very tough games in February so hopefully we can keep the winning going and pull off the three peat.

Well till next time everyone try to stay warm in this cold weather; I also wish everyone the best and hope they have a Happy Valentine’s Day.

What's wrong with the economy.....lack of confidence?

As I talk to business people around the area, they tell me that they and their customers are just not sure what's going to happen next. Because of this a lot of businesses have cut back on promoting....from years passed... I have seen businesses that continue to promote get the customers that are buying...and they are in a better position to do business when this is over.

I feel better about the possibly that things are going to change as we get closer to the fall elections. If you feel you have a voice you have more confidence. Phone everyone you know, talk to them about getting the right people in office, you have influence be sure to use it.

See you next month.
